The system supports two main types of exhibitions in which certified exhibitors and buyers can participate, provided that they are registered in the system and have created an appropriate detailed profile.
The types of exhibitions supported by the system are the following:
1) Continuous virtual exhibition of producers and products
This exhibition is a permanent virtual exhibition in which all certified exhibitors participate using the basic profile they have created in the system, presenting their products in detail as well as their activities in general.
2) Specialized virtual exhibitions that take place during specific time periods
These exhibitions are more specialized. They are dynamically created by the exhibition management system and have specific characteristics such as:
- a defined duration (start date – end date)
- they may concern specific products or product categories (e.g. wine exhibition)
- certified exhibitors in the system declare their participation (not all certified exhibitors participate automatically). Participants create (through an appropriate management interface) a special profile for the specific exhibition, showcasing the specific product categories supported by the exhibition.
The digital exhibition platform, in addition to virtual exhibitions, also supports physical exhibitions or hybrid events that include:
- A physical exhibition at an exhibition venue where exhibitors participate in person, presenting their products
- A parallel virtual exhibition in which exhibitors present their products through their profile on the platform
- Buyers who visit the physical exhibition and, after registering on the platform, can search for producers and products and organize physical meetings with producers through the platform (prior to the exhibition)
- Buyers who do not visit the physical exhibition but can, after searching for products and exhibitors, organize virtual meetings via video conferencing or chat using the platform’s provided infrastructure.
