A wide range of knowledge on modern solutions and approaches in agricultural technology is offered through a European project that has developed free educational materials for stakeholders. Training in agri-tech is considered essential for broader dissemination and adoption of innovation on farms. Specifically, education, knowledge, and technology transfer are key strategies to address generational renewal in the agricultural sector and to attract new entrants who are willing to invest in innovation and adopt modern farming solutions. In addition, the trend towards digitalisation has already enabled diversification and enrichment of professional roles in agriculture. Specialised and formal training for new farmers will help them manage their agricultural holdings and more readily adopt smart agri-tech solutions based on the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

This European project is part of this effort; it is addressed to farmers, university students and professionals interested in acquiring comprehensive knowledge of modern agri-tech approaches and solutions. The educational material developed by the project introduces new technologies, business skills and applied psychology, while also promoting professional opportunities in the emerging agri-tech market.

The curriculum created through the project includes the following modules:

  1. Food system analysis
  2. Internet of Things (IoT) and Earth Observation to increase agricultural production and improve input yield
  3.  Data analysis for farm management
  4. Artificial Intelligence and Supply Chain Optimisation
  5. Innovative financial tools for agri-food liquidity and insurance
  6. Entrepreneurship development techniques for lean agri-tech start-ups

The modules are fully accessible via the online platform created as part of the project.
