Elle est consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme un paradis pour tout visiteur en qu\u00eate de beaut\u00e9 irr\u00e9elle et de s\u00e9r\u00e9nit\u00e9 absolue. Selon la mythologie, Staphylos, fils du dieu Dionysos, fut le premier habitant de l\u2019\u00eele. Aujourd\u2019hui, le site du m\u00eame nom, Staphylos, abrite le site arch\u00e9ologique le plus important de l\u2019\u00eele, t\u00e9moignant de la pr\u00e9sence d\u2019un \u00e9tablissement humain datant de l\u2019\u00e9poque myc\u00e9nienne. Dans l\u2019Antiquit\u00e9, l\u2019\u00eele, connue sous le nom de P\u00e9par\u00e8thos, \u00e9tait r\u00e9put\u00e9e pour son vin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sa capitale, Chora, est un village traditionnel qui s\u00e9duit par son architecture insulaire caract\u00e9ristique et ses ruelles pittoresques. Le deuxi\u00e8me plus grand village est Glossa, perch\u00e9 au-dessus du port de Loutraki, offrant une vue fabuleuse. L\u2019\u00eele compte de nombreuses chapelles et monast\u00e8res qui m\u00e9ritent une visite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les plages de Skopelos sont litt\u00e9ralement immerg\u00e9es dans la verdure. Si les plages du nord et de l\u2019est sont plus rocheuses, celles du sud de Skopelos, en particulier, sont bord\u00e9es de for\u00eats et baign\u00e9es d\u2019eaux cristallines. Parmi les plus belles, on citera Milia, Velanio, Stafylos, Glysteri, Katakalou, parmi bien d\u2019autres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gastronomie<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La culture et l\u2019h\u00e9ritage gastronomiques de Skopelos sont particuli\u00e8rement int\u00e9ressants. Les habitants se consacrent \u00e0 l\u2019agriculture, \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9levage, \u00e0 la p\u00eache ainsi qu\u2019au tourisme. L\u2019\u00eele des Sporades est r\u00e9put\u00e9e pour ses prunes, ses poires et ses amandes, ainsi que pour une race de ch\u00e8vre unique, la \u00ab&nbsp;ch\u00e8vre de Skopelos&nbsp;\u00bb, que l\u2019on ne trouve qu\u2019ici. Le vin occupe une place importante dans l\u2019histoire locale, et bien que la production viticole fasse l\u2019objet d\u2019efforts syst\u00e9matiques, aucun domaine n\u2019a encore \u00e9t\u00e9 certifi\u00e9. Les vari\u00e9t\u00e9s produites incluent le vin rouge Peparithios (du nom antique de l\u2019\u00eele, P\u00e9par\u00e9thos), issu des raisins noirs locaux caract\u00e9ristiques, ainsi que des c\u00e9pages blancs comme le Roditis et le Savatiano. Le miel de thym et l\u2019huile d\u2019olive de l\u2019\u00eele sont d\u2019une qualit\u00e9 exceptionnelle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019un des plats les plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bres est la tourte au fromage torsac\u00e9e, pr\u00e9par\u00e9e avec une p\u00e2te filo artisanale croustillante et garnie de fromage de ch\u00e8vre local. Les plats traditionnels de Skopelos incluent les <em>keftedes<\/em> boulettes de viande mijot\u00e9es \u00e0 la sauce tomate et aux prunes, la ch\u00e8vre aux prunes aux coings, ainsi que des sp\u00e9cialit\u00e9s \u00e0 base de fruits de mer, comme le <em>youvetsi<\/em> de homard, les p\u00e2tes au homard ou encore les beignets de poulpe. Le dessert le plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bre sont les prunes de Skopelos confites au sirop, que l\u2019on appele <em>avgato<\/em>. Parmi les douceurs locales \u00e0 ne pas manquer, on retrouve \u00e9galement les <em>amygdalota<\/em> (confiseries \u00e0 base d\u2019amandes), la <em>galopita<\/em> (tarte au lait) torsad\u00e9e, le miel de Skopelos et les confitures artisanales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Comment s\u2019y rendre<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Skopelos fait partie de l\u2019archipel des Sporades et est facilement accessible en ferry depuis les ports de Volos, de Mantoudi (sur l\u2019\u00eele d\u2019Eub\u00e9e) et de Thessalonique.
