L\u2019\u00eele appartient \u00e0 l\u2019archipel des Cyclades et se situe, sur la carte, au sud d\u2019Ios et \u00e0 l\u2019ouest d\u2019Anafi. Historiquement, Santorin, \u00e9galement appel\u00e9e Th\u00e9ra, est d\u2019abord mentionn\u00e9e sous le nom de Strongyli en raison de sa forme ronde. Cette grande \u00eele, qui formait avec ses deux voisines, Thirassia et Aspronissi, un magnifique groupe d\u2019\u00eeles, fut partiellement submerg\u00e9e \u00e0 la suite d\u2019une gigantesque \u00e9ruption volcanique \u00e0 la fin du XVII<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle av. J.-C. L\u2019\u00eele a, depuis, subi une autre \u00e9ruption volcanique, aux alentours de 1950.<br>Elle reste encore aujourd\u2019hui indissociable de son volcan. Sa caldeira compte parmi les paysages les plus spectaculaires du monde, aux caract\u00e9ristiques g\u00e9omorphologiques consid\u00e9r\u00e9es comme uniques. Oia, Fira,\u00a0Ammoudi,\u00a0Imerovigli et\u00a0Firostefani, ainsi que de magnifiques villages comme\u00a0Pyrgos et\u00a0Megalochori,\u00a0comptent parmi les magnifiques localit\u00e9s de l\u2019\u00eele, \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir. Athinios, le port de l\u2019\u00eele, vous accueillera si vous arrivez en bateau. \u00c0 Santorin, les plages, d\u2019une beaut\u00e9 unique, ne ressemblent \u00e0 celles d\u2019aucune autre \u00eele. La plage rouge, avec ses falaises d\u2019un rouge brique caract\u00e9ristique, ainsi que de nombreuses autres plages de sable noir, rompent avec le clich\u00e9 des \u00e9tendues de sable dor\u00e9 ou blanc et des eaux turquoise que l\u2019on associe g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement aux Cyclades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gastronomie <\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019\u00eele est consid\u00e9r\u00e9e, ces derni\u00e8res d\u00e9cennies, comme la destination gastronomique insulaire par excellence, ses restaurants recevant m\u00eame des distinctions internationales.<br>La <em>fava<\/em>, ou pur\u00e9e de pois cass\u00e9s \u2013 la l\u00e9gumineuse embl\u00e9matique de l\u2019\u00eele, l\u2019aubergine blanche, la petite tomate, la c\u00e2pre et les feuilles de c\u00e2prier, le <em>chlorotyri<\/em>, ainsi que les <em>melitinia<\/em> ou la douceur nomm\u00e9e <em>koufeto<\/em> composent un panier de produits locaux tr\u00e8s pris\u00e9s et d\u2019une qualit\u00e9 exceptionnelle. De grands chefs et cuisiniers, puisant leur inspiration dans les produits du terroir et leur imagination, ont su faire de l\u2019\u00eele une destination gastronomique de premier choix, capable d\u2019offrir aux visiteurs aussi bien des saveurs traditionnelles authentiques dans ses tavernes que des cr\u00e9ations plus \u00e9labor\u00e9es dans ses restaurants. Les beignets de tomate et (bien s\u00fbr) la <em>fava<\/em> sont les embl\u00e8mes de la cuisine de Santorin. Toutefois, d\u2019autres recettes locales, plus ou moins connues, m\u00e9ritent \u00e9galement l\u2019attention, comme l\u2019<em>atherinopita<\/em> (petits poissons frits avec de la farine et des oignons), les p\u00e2tes \u00e0 l\u2019ail (aussi appel\u00e9e \u00ab&nbsp;p\u00e2tes du pauvre&nbsp;\u00bb, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement des p\u00e2tes \u00e9paisses saut\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019ail), la salade de Santorin (au pain biscott\u00e9, c\u00e2pres, feuilles de c\u00e2prier, tomates cerises et fromage <em>chlorotyri<\/em>) et le <em>sfougato<\/em> (omelette aux l\u00e9gumes locaux).<br>Tout aussi indissociable de l\u2019\u00eele que sa gastronomie, le vin occupe une place essentielle \u00e0 Santorin. Les vignobles de l\u2019\u00eele, combin\u00e9s \u00e0 son sol volcanique, donnent naissance \u00e0 des vins au caract\u00e8re explosif, maintes fois r\u00e9compens\u00e9s dans des concours internationaux. Parmi les plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bres, on retrouve le Nykteri (blanc sec), le Vinsanto (blanc ou rouge doux, qui fut d\u2019ailleurs utilis\u00e9 comme vin de communion dans l\u2019\u00c9glise orthodoxe russe) et le Brousko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Comment s\u2019y rendre<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Santorin fait partie de l\u2019archipel des Cyclades et est facilement accessible, soit
