Cyth\u00e8re, ou Tsirigo<\/em> comme on l\u2019appelle souvent, fait g\u00e9ographiquement partie des \u00eeles Ioniennes. Situ\u00e9e \u00e0 la rencontre de la mer Ionienne, de la mer \u00c9g\u00e9e et de la mer de Cr\u00e8te, elle rel\u00e8ve administrativement du Pir\u00e9e. L\u2019origine de son nom est particuli\u00e8rement int\u00e9ressante et est \u00e9troitement li\u00e9e \u00e0 la d\u00e9esse de l\u2019amour et de la beaut\u00e9, Aphrodite. En effet, selon la mythologie, Aphrodite serait n\u00e9e de l\u2019\u00e9cume de la mer de Cyth\u00e8re. La capitale de l\u2019\u00eele, Chora, se distingue par son charme pittoresque et son architecture authentique. L\u2019embl\u00e8me de Chora est sa forteresse v\u00e9nitienne, perch\u00e9e \u00e0 son sommet, qui enchante les visiteurs avec sa vue imprenable sur la mer Ionienne et t\u00e9moigne de la riche histoire de l\u2019\u00eele. Vient ensuite Kapsali, le deuxi\u00e8me village le plus connu de Cyth\u00e8re. Ce port pittoresque, avec sa vue sur la forteresse, est particuli\u00e8rement anim\u00e9, notamment en soir\u00e9e, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ses excellents restaurants et bars. D\u2019autres villages traditionnels, nich\u00e9s dans un cadre naturel exceptionnel, m\u00e9ritent \u00e9galement le d\u00e9tour : Karavas, le village de p\u00eacheurs d\u2019Avlemonas, le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre Mylopotamos avec ses moulins \u00e0 eau, ses sources et ses cascades, Potamos, le plus grand village de l\u2019\u00eele, ainsi que les impressionnantes grottes un peu partout sur l\u2019\u00eele, parmi lesquelles celles de Mylopotamos, de Chousti et de Kalamos. L\u2019\u00eele est \u00e9galement r\u00e9put\u00e9e pour ses plages vari\u00e9es aux eaux limpides et ses paysages sauvages. Kalamadi et Melidoni sont peut-\u00eatre les deux plages les plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bres, mais il vaut vraiment la peine de parcourir chaque petite baie et plage, du nord au sud de l\u2019\u00eele.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gastronomie <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les petites productions et la qualit\u00e9 exceptionnelle sont les deux caract\u00e9ristiques principales des produits locaux de Cyth\u00e8re. Le produit local num\u00e9ro un est le fameux paximadi<\/em>, ou pain biscott\u00e9 de Cyth\u00e8re, \u00e9galement appel\u00e9 ladospaximada<\/em>. Vient ensuite le miel, en particulier le miel de thym, \u00e0 haute valeur nutritionnelle, qui sert souvent de base \u00e0 des mets sucr\u00e9s, ainsi que le xinochondros<\/em> trahanas, qui accompagne de nombreux plats traditionnels. Bien entendu, vous pourrez y d\u00e9guster du poisson frais et des fruits de mer, rapport\u00e9s chaque jour par les p\u00eacheurs exp\u00e9riment\u00e9s \u00e0 Kapsali.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La cuisine locale pr\u00e9sente des influences de la cuisine ionienne, agr\u00e9ment\u00e9e d\u2019une intense touche v\u00e9nitienne. Ainsi, on retrouve ici des plats ayant une \u00ab faiblesse \u00bb pour l\u2019ail, comme le bourdeto<\/em>, ou la fameuse pastitsada<\/em> avec sa sauce tomate \u00e9pic\u00e9e, des aromates \u00e0 la saveur prononc\u00e9e comme la cannelle, des viandes locales et des p\u00e2tes \u00e9paisses. Les xerotygana<\/em>, les rozedes<\/em>, les melounia<\/em> et les koumara<\/em> sont quelques-uns des desserts traditionnels les plus courants. Enfin, la fatourada<\/em>, la liqueur de Cyth\u00e8re \u00e0 base de tsipouro avec une forte pr\u00e9sence de cannelle et de clous de girofle, ainsi que le vin local, comptent parmi les sp\u00e9cialit\u00e9s de l\u2019\u00eele.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cyth\u00e8re est une \u00eele qui g\u00e9ographiquement fait partie des \u00eeles Ioniennes et administrativement rel\u00e8ve du Pir\u00e9e.
