Elafonissos s\u2019\u00e9tend sur seulement 19 kilom\u00e8tres carr\u00e9s, mais malgr\u00e9 sa petite taille, elle impressionne tous ceux qui la visitent. Habit\u00e9e depuis l\u2019Antiquit\u00e9, son histoire remonte loin dans le temps. Pausanias nous apprend d\u2019ailleurs qu\u2019autrefois, elle n\u2019\u00e9tait pas une \u00eele, mais une presqu\u2019\u00eele appel\u00e9e \u00ab Onou Gnathos \u00bb. Son nom provient des petits cerfs roux qui y vivaient, une information que l\u2019on doit \u00e9galement \u00e0 Pausanias. Aujourd\u2019hui, Elafonissos est une minuscule \u00eele de la mer \u00c9g\u00e9e, rattach\u00e9e au d\u00e9partement de Laconie, et au sud, \u00e0 tr\u00e8s courte distance, se trouve Cyth\u00e8re. Sa ville principale est Chora, avec ses petites maisons pittoresques aux toits de tuiles, aux volets g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement bleus et aux cours romantiques, \u00e9l\u00e9ments caract\u00e9ristiques de l\u2019architecture insulaire. L\u2019\u00eele compte \u00e9galement trois autres hameaux : Kapari, juste apr\u00e8s le port, Lefki, o\u00f9 se trouve l\u2019attraction num\u00e9ro un de l\u2019\u00eele, la plage de Simos, et Kato Nisi, qui, ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, attire l\u2019attention des amateurs de paradis cach\u00e9s gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la spectaculaire plage de Panagia. Le saint patron de l\u2019\u00eele est Saint Spyridon, dont la pittoresque petite \u00e9glise vous accueillera d\u00e8s votre arriv\u00e9e en ferry. Il est important de souligner qu\u2019Elafonissos est un site prot\u00e9g\u00e9 du r\u00e9seau Natura 2000, abritant une flore et une faune uniques sur son territoire. Pour les v\u00e9ritables explorateurs, la plong\u00e9e dans la ville engloutie de Pavlopetri repr\u00e9sente une exp\u00e9rience unique et incontournable. <\/p>\n\n

Gastronomie<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Vous vous trouvez dans une destination qui abrite l\u2019une des plus grandes flottes de p\u00eache en Gr\u00e8ce, avec 180 bateaux de p\u00eache c\u00f4ti\u00e8re, ce qui explique ais\u00e9ment que le poisson frais et les fruits de mer occupent ici une place centrale. Vous pourrez les d\u00e9guster dans leur meilleure version. Les tavernes de poissons s\u2019alignent les unes \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 des autres le long de la promenade c\u00f4ti\u00e8re, o\u00f9 le poisson frais, principalement grill\u00e9, atteint de nouveaux sommets de saveur dans l\u2019une des sp\u00e9cialit\u00e9s locales : la kakkavia. Il s\u2019agit de la soupe de poisson locale, enrichie de l\u00e9gumes de saison, \u00e0 la texture velout\u00e9e. L\u2019astakomakaronada (p\u00e2tes au homard) et la garidomakaronada (p\u00e2tes aux crevettes) suivent dans le menu des plats locaux. Bien s\u00fbr, vous trouverez aussi du poulpe – grill\u00e9 ou au vinaigre -, ainsi que du m\u00e9rou blanc, du dent\u00e9, de l\u2019espadon et du m\u00e9ron blanc, ainsi que divers autres poissons des eaux locales. <\/p>\n\n

C\u00f4t\u00e9 p\u00e2tisseries, vous pourrez go\u00fbter la version locale de la tyropita de la r\u00e9gion de Laconie, appel\u00e9e sa\u00efti, confectionn\u00e9e \u00e0 partir de fromage de ch\u00e8vre et parfum\u00e9e \u00e0 la menthe. Les sasoumad\u00e8s, le plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bre des desserts locaux, ressemblent \u00e0 des baklavas frits, et valent absolument le d\u00e9tour. <\/p>\n\n
