Selon la mythologie, Zeus tomba amoureux de la fille du dieu fleuve Asopos, la nymphe \u00c9gine, et la transporta sur l\u2019\u00eele qui prit depuis son nom. <\/p>\n\n<p>L\u2019\u00eele, qui en 1826 fut proclam\u00e9e premi\u00e8re capitale de l\u2019\u00c9tat grec libre, se distingue par son histoire et sa culture. Ses vestiges arch\u00e9ologiques, ses b\u00e2timents n\u00e9oclassiques et ses temples importants en sont autant de t\u00e9moignages. <br\/>Le principal site touristique de l\u2019\u00eele est le Temple d\u2019Aphaia, datant d\u2019environ 500 avant J.-C. Son architecture en fait un site unique qui attire l\u2019attention des visiteurs grecs et \u00e9trangers. D\u2019autres lieux \u00e0 visiter sont le Mus\u00e9e Arch\u00e9ologique, le site arch\u00e9ologique de Kolona pr\u00e8s du port, la cit\u00e9 de Palaiochora et la petite \u00e9glise Agios Nektarios \u00e0 proximit\u00e9. Le visiteur sera \u00e9galement ravi de d\u00e9couvrir les magnifiques plages de l\u2019\u00eele. De la tr\u00e8s anim\u00e9e plage d\u2019Agia Marina aux plages plus tranquilles comme Marathonas et Perdika, \u00c9gine offre une grande vari\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019options et de paysages. La visite de l\u2019\u00eelot Moni, en face d\u2019\u00c9gine et \u00e0 un jet de pierre de Perdika, est une exp\u00e9rience unique, avec ses paons, ses \u00e9cureuils, ses cerfs et ses ch\u00e8vres sauvages, et des plages aux eaux turquoises.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Gastronomie<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>La destination est \u00e9troitement li\u00e9e \u00e0 la c\u00e9l\u00e8bre pistache d\u2019\u00c9gine, de qualit\u00e9 sup\u00e9rieure et consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme la plus savoureuse au monde. La pistache d\u2019\u00c9gine est cultiv\u00e9e sur l\u2019\u00eele depuis le <sup>XIXe<\/sup> si\u00e8cle. Plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment, c\u2019est en 1896 que Nikolaos Peroglou y plante pour la premi\u00e8re fois des graines, probablement en provenance de Syrie, et cr\u00e9e la premi\u00e8re plantation organis\u00e9e de pistachiers. En 1996, le \u00ab produit miracle \u00bb local est reconnu comme une appellation d\u2019origine prot\u00e9g\u00e9e (AOP), qui confirme ainsi sa qualit\u00e9 exceptionnelle. Un facteur d\u00e9terminant dans son go\u00fbt d\u00e9licieux et son ar\u00f4me unique est le sol calcaire de l\u2019\u00eele. Chaque ann\u00e9e, le festival de la pistache c\u00e9l\u00e8bre le lien indissociable entre le lieu et ce produit.     <\/p>\n\n<p>On comprendra ais\u00e9ment que la plupart des douceurs locales sont pr\u00e9par\u00e9es \u00e0 base de pistache.<\/p>\n\n<p>Les fromages d\u2019\u00c9gine sont \u00e9galement int\u00e9ressants, notamment le geremezi, un fromage doux \u00e0 base de lait de ch\u00e8vre, affin\u00e9 pendant 4 \u00e0 5 jours dans des r\u00e9cipients sp\u00e9ciaux et principalement utilis\u00e9 dans les dakos, les salades et les tartes, ainsi que le fromage au yaourt, fabriqu\u00e9 \u00e0 partir de yaourt et de f\u00e9ta fra\u00eeche, l\u2019un des fromages les plus rattach\u00e9s \u00e0 la tradition de l\u2019\u00eele.<\/p>\n\n<p>Parmi les recettes locales, il vaut certainement la peine d\u2019essayer la tiganosoupa, une soupe de poisson pr\u00e9par\u00e9e \u00e0 la po\u00eale.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Comment s\u2019y rendre<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>\u00c9gine fait partie des \u00eeles du golfe Saronique et est facilement accessible depuis le Pir\u00e9e, en ferry ou en hydroglisseur. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La plus grande \u00eele du golfe Saronique, situ\u00e9e en son c\u0153ur, est entour\u00e9e par Agistri, Tr\u00e9z\u00e8ne, Methana et Poros.
