L\u2019une des raisons qui vous a amen\u00e9(e)\u00b7\u00e0 Ath\u00e8nes est sans doute le d\u00e9sir d\u2019admirer le Parth\u00e9non, de gravir l\u2019Acropole et de d\u00e9couvrir le Mus\u00e9e arch\u00e9ologique national, cher \u00e0 mon c\u0153ur. Et vous auriez raison : ce sont des incontournables, surtout le mus\u00e9e arch\u00e9ologique. Quant au Parth\u00e9non, vous pouvez l\u2019apercevoir depuis de nombreux endroits de la ville, parfois m\u00eame depuis un restaurant \u2014 ce qui est peut-\u00eatre la plus belle fa\u00e7on de l\u2019admirer. Si vous voyagez hors saison, profitez-en pour gravir son rocher et le contempler de pr\u00e8s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mais Ath\u00e8nes, c\u2019est aussi une ville vivante, peupl\u00e9e d\u2019habitants comme vous et moi et d\u2019artistes qui cr\u00e9ent aujourd\u2019hui, et dont la culture contemporaine, malgr\u00e9 la mondialisation qui uniformise tout, conserve une authenticit\u00e9 bien grecque. Dans le quartier de Metaxourgeio, vous trouverez plusieurs lieux int\u00e9ressants, comme un centre bouddhiste (le Zen Centre de la rue Agisilaou), o\u00f9 l\u2019on peut s\u2019initier \u00e0 la m\u00e9ditation ou au yoga apr\u00e8s une journ\u00e9e bien remplie de visites. Alors, me direz-vous, quel rapport avec la Gr\u00e8ce ? Aucun directement, sauf le fait que l\u2019homme moderne \u2014 Grec ou non \u2014 puise dans diff\u00e9rentes traditions pour \u00e9largir ses horizons. Pour moi, l\u2019un des meilleurs moyens de le faire reste de d\u00e9couvrir la sc\u00e8ne artistique contemporaine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La ville regorge aussi de nouveaux restaurants qui revisitent la cuisine grecque avec cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9. L\u2019une des balades que je conseille aux visiteurs de la galerie, apr\u00e8s leur passage ici, est de se diriger vers la colline de la Pnyx en passant devant la synagogue. Juste \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 se trouve le monument en m\u00e9moire des victimes de l\u2019Holocauste, une \u0153uvre de Deanna Maganias. La culture grecque contemporaine s\u2019exprime surtout \u00e0 travers le th\u00e9\u00e2tre, ce qui suppose de comprendre la langue. Mais dans les grandes institutions, comme la Fondation Stavros Niarchos ou le Festival d\u2019Ath\u00e8nes-\u00c9pidaure, de nombreuses productions proposent d\u00e9sormais des surtitres en anglais. Ne manquez pas non plus le Mus\u00e9e national d\u2019art contemporain (EMST), qui accueille de nombreuses expositions, individuelles ou collectives, d\u2019artistes grecs et \u00e9trangers. Vous pourrez ensuite traverser la rue pour aller d\u00e9jeuner dans l\u2019un des restaurants et caf\u00e9s branch\u00e9s de Koukaki. Sans oublier la Galerie nationale, install\u00e9e \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de l\u2019ancien h\u00f4tel Hilton. Et pour finir, un conseil tr\u00e8s important : On ne peut pas tout voir. Il n\u2019est pas n\u00e9cessaire de cocher toutes les cases de sa liste. Fl\u00e2nez, observez, arr\u00eatez-vous pour boire, sur un banc, une bi\u00e8re achet\u00e9e au kiosque du coin, faites une pause et laissez-vous surprendre par les restaurants qui ouvrent les uns apr\u00e8s les autres, chacun plus savoureux que le pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
