Elle fait partie des \u00eeles du golfe Argosaronique et se trouve \u00e0 tr\u00e8s courte distance d\u2019Ath\u00e8nes. En effet, une heure et demie seulement suffit pour se retrouver dans un d\u00e9cor digne d\u2019un vieux film de cin\u00e9ma. Hydra est une \u00eele au riche pass\u00e9 historique et culturel. Important centre commercial et maritime au XIXe<\/sup> si\u00e8cle, elle joua un r\u00f4le d\u00e9terminant dans la R\u00e9volution de 1821. Ses forces navales contribu\u00e8rent en effet, dans une large mesure, \u00e0 la lutte pour l\u2019ind\u00e9pendance de la Gr\u00e8ce, et l\u2019\u00eele est \u00e9troitement li\u00e9e \u00e0 des figures historiques telles que Theodoros Kolokotronis et Andreas Miaoulis. L\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement le plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bre, ancr\u00e9 dans la tradition et rendant hommage \u00e0 l\u2019histoire maritime de l\u2019\u00eele, sont les c\u00e9l\u00e9brations donn\u00e9es chaque ann\u00e9e en l\u2019honneur de ce dernier. Son architecture est \u00e9galement embl\u00e9matique. De magnifiques b\u00e2timents aux fa\u00e7ades en pierre, recouverts de toits en tuiles, constituent la base de chaque maison, noble demeure ou maison de capitaine, formant un ensemble harmonieux et majestueux. L\u2019absence de voitures sur l\u2019\u00eele \u2013 seuls les \u00e2nes et les carrioles y circulent \u2013 offre aux visiteurs l\u2019opportunit\u00e9 unique de d\u00e9couvrir chacune de ses ruelles pav\u00e9es \u00e0 pied.
La premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape incontournable est toujours le port. Devant lui s\u2019\u00e9tend la rue c\u00f4ti\u00e8re principale, la rue Pavlos Kountouriotis, qui m\u00e8ne, sur sa gauche, \u00e0 la statue embl\u00e9matique de l\u2019amiral Miaoulis. C\u2019est \u00e9galement ici que l\u2019on trouve la cath\u00e9drale de l\u2019\u00eele, l\u2019\u00e9glise de la Dormition de la Vierge (\u00ab Kimiseos tis Theotokou \u00bb), qui abrite un mus\u00e9e d\u2019art. On peut \u00e9galement y admirer de nombreuses et magnifiques demeures, parmi lesquelles celles des fr\u00e8res Pavlos et Lazaros Kountouriotis, de Voulgaris et de Tombazis se distinguent particuli\u00e8rement. Le lien de l\u2019\u00eele avec la culture est profond, et chacun de ses mus\u00e9es sont une \u00e9tape incontournable. Kiafa, le quartier le plus ancien de l\u2019\u00eele, remonte au XVe<\/sup> si\u00e8cle et offre une vue magique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La plage la plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bre se trouve au pied des falaises de Spilia, en contre-bas de la falaise de l\u2019Hydronetta et du kiosque. La plage des Kamini, du m\u00eame nom que le village, figure \u00e9galement parmi les plus pris\u00e9es. Pour les amateurs de randonn\u00e9e, le chemin menant \u00e0 la colline de Profitis Ilias fait partie des exp\u00e9riences uniques offertes par l\u2019\u00eele.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gastronomie<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

La gastronomie de Hydra refl\u00e8te fortement la tradition insulaire authentique, avec un accent particulier sur la p\u00eache. Les fruits de mer frais et le poisson sont les \u00e9l\u00e9ments principaux de la cuisine locale, le calamar, la seiche et le poulpe se disputant la vedette. Vous les d\u00e9gusterez soit avec du riz cuit dans leur encre, soit grill\u00e9s. \u00c0 Hydra, vous ne trouverez pas une grande vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de tourtes traditionnelles faites maison, mais la fameuse tourte locale aux herbes sauvages de l\u2019\u00eele est absolument d\u00e9licieuse. Les goglies<\/em> (similaires aux kourkoubines<\/em> de l\u2019\u00eele d\u2019Eub\u00e9e), ces c\u00e9l\u00e8bres p\u00e2tes artisanales qui accompagnent de nombreux plats ou sont consomm\u00e9es comme plat principal, font \u00e9galement partie du panier des recettes locales. Parmi les plats \u00e0 base de viande, on trouve fr\u00e9quemment le veau au coing et le stifado<\/em>.
En dehors des tr\u00e9sors de la mer, c\u00e9l\u00e8bres sont aussi les amygdalota<\/em> de Hydra, les kourabiedes<\/em>, les baklavas au sucre, les skaltzounia<\/em>, les achladakia<\/em> et les pancakes locaux, appel\u00e9s ici lalaggites<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
